Ulverston Angling Association: General Fishing Regulations

  1. Anglers aged 12 and over must be in possession of a current permit or membership ticket and shall produce it upon request to any other permit holder or authorised official. Association bailiffs regularly patrol these fisheries and anglers are requested to assist them in carrying out their duties and to co-operate by strictly complying with the rules of the fisheries. Any officer or committee member has the authority to request any member to produce their catch for inspection. Refusal or obnoxious behaviour will be reported to the committee and the offender will be subject to disciplinary action.
  2. All anglers except juniors under age twelve must be in possession of a current environment agency rod licence and shall at all times strictly comply with the fishery bye-laws of that agency.
  3. Anglers are warned that they fish on the associations waters at their own risk. no liability whatsoever can be accepted for any loss, damage or injury to any permit holder or third party or property however sustained. in order to comply with the terms and conditions of the association’s insurances, anglers must immediately report to the secretary every incident, which could result in a claim against themselves or the association.
  4. Members leaving litter will be reported to the committee and the offender will be subject to disciplinary action.
  5. All anglers are responsible for the welfare of their catch.
  6. All anglers must possess a suitable instrument to facilitate safe unhooking of the fish they are targetting.
  7. All angling shall be carried out in a sportsmanlike manner
  8. No dogs, boats, alcohol, radios, musical instruments, fires, pollution of the water or watercourses, and no disturbing or damage to wildlife, stock, crops or walls.
