Ulverston Angling Association: General Fishing Regulations

  1. Anglers aged 12 and over must be in possession of a current ticket and shall produce it upon request to any other ticket holder or authorised official. Association bailiffs regularly patrol the fisheries and anglers are requested to assist them in carrying out their duties and to co-operate by strictly complying with the rules of the fisheries. Refusal or obnoxious behaviour will be reported to the committee and the offender will be subject to disciplinary action.
  2. All anglers except juniors under age twelve must be in possession of a current environment agency rod licence and shall at all times strictly comply with the fishery bye-laws of that agency.
  3. Anglers are warned that they fish on the associations waters at their own risk. No liability whatsoever can be accepted for any loss, damage or injury to any permit holder or third party or property however sustained. In order to comply with the terms and conditions of the association’s insurances, anglers must immediately report to the secretary every incident/accident
  4. Members leaving litter will be reported to the committee and the offender will be subject to disciplinary action.
  5. All anglers are responsible for the welfare of their catch.
  6. All anglers must possess suitable instruments to facilitate safe unhooking of the fish they are targeting.
  7. All angling shall be carried out in a sportsmanlike manner
  8. An adult must accompany juniors aged under 12 at all times. The number of juniors per adult shall be a maximum of two.
  9. Only barbless, microbarbed or debarbed hooks to be used.
  10. Vehicles must only park in the areas provided.
  11. Coarse rods must not be left unattended and any angler wishing to stray further than 10yds from their swim must withdraw their rod(s) from the water.
